induction of labour testimonial

“it’s a miracle!”

well, not quite, but for a 40-wk pregnant lady, with nine months of 24hr morning sickness, unable to walk due to torn ligaments in her foot and a toddler to look after full time, it certainly felt like one after seeing Jo.

As soon as i met Jo I knew i’d found someone special. Firstly, Jo responded to my plea for help on a sunday afternoon and come the following day to give me a treatment bless her. Then when i met her i immediately felt a calm connection – Im not an ‘aura’ kind of person, but maybe i am now, as Jo has an incredible aura of centredness and healing about her. I could probably have just sat back in the chair in her company and felt better, never mind the reflexology!

I had two sessions over two consecutive days; my baby engaged further in the second session with contraction-like sensations, and i stood up with my full weight on my foot for the first time in 3 weeks. Hence the miracle! My foot wasn’t physically cured, but my anxiety filled head was – the session had given me the message everything was going to be ok and to relax – my baby was on her way.

My beautiful baby girl came to join her big sister, ma and pa two days later in a magical calm 3 hour home birth and four weeks later i am walking normally.

I had been having reflexology throughout my pregnancy with a different practitioner, but the difference with Jo was that she just knew what I needed and accessed my complex head during the treatment – amazing how feet and a human connection can start to sort your head out and produce amazing results immediately. I can’t recommend Jo enough for both responding to ‘emergency’(!) situations like mine and for preparing in advance for a safe and calm birth. Whatever situation might arise, Jo can prepare your head and your body and you and your baby will be ok.”

induction of labour – your treatment

Once your pregnancy is ‘full term’ priming methods are introduced to your treatment. These therapeutic techniques are used to promote and support you and your baby as you both prepare for birth. It involves strong stimulation of specific reflex areas to encourage a boost of energy and the onset of labour.

Of course there are no guarantees, as with any other medical intervention or therapy, but case studies have shown reflexology to be effective in helping the onset of labour and even to reduce time taken in labour.

It is recommended that between one to three treatments are undertaken to benefit from the cumulative effect of reflexology. The minimum time between session is 24 hours.
